My daughter was referred to work with Coach Nunes by her pediatrician as she had put on significant weight during the pandemic and developed severe anxiety. Up to 2020 she was a top student, active footballer and had lots of friends. From the pandemic, she barely left the house and was always on her ipad when she was not doing schoolwork. Her mother and I tried to get her to walk with us and do some exercise, but she was not interested. She struggled with her return to school due to her embarrassment about the weight gain and her lack of socializing with friends. She was constantly anxious and began having panic attacks. We didn’t know what to do. She began training with Coach Nunes, which did take a lot of convincing for her to start, but she had known some athletes who trained by him and knew they were in great shape. But she wanted to make sure she would not train with anyone else until she lost some weight. She quickly fell into her individual training routine and really enjoyed it. Soon she asked to go more days and then wanted to join a group. She has lost most of the weight she put on, but most importantly she is back to her old self. She’s talkative and social and the anxiety has decreased a lot. Our whole family is eating healthier and exercising more frequently. We are so happy we met Coach Nunes!

I want to thank Coach Nunes for his help to make me get stronger and more fit. I have always been overweight and didn’t play any sports, but in 2021 I put on even more weight and was up to almost 300 pounds. My doctor told me I needed to eat healthier and lose weight for a long time. But in 2021 he told me I was pre-diabetic and I was putting strain my heart. I got scared and decided to work with Coach Nunes to see what would happen. At first it was really hard as I had never been in a proper exercise programme, but even then it was fun. He helped me and my parents understand what we should eat and what we should not eat. I can’t say I always followed that, but I did most of the time and have lost a lot of weight. I really enjoy everyone I have met at “The Yard” and am excited to go train. I have joined a swim team and feel so much better about myself and know that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to.
